Bachelor of Science from the California Institute of Technology (June 1998)
in the Engineering and Applied Science department.

Concentrations: Computer Science and Computation and Neural Systems.

Course work examples:

	physics: mechanics, electricity&magnetism, special relativity,
quantum mechanics, statistical thermodynamics, lab courses in:
		waves, particle collision/scattering, electronics,
		and semiconductor theory/fabrication
computer science: C, C++, Java, and parallel programming,
object oriented analysis and design, algorithm development,
program proofs, grammars, graphics, and physical simulation
neural systems/information: general neurobiology, artificial life,
information theory, complexity, and further independent
		research in artificial life.

Work/Research experiences (by employer):
-----------------
Malachiarts Networks - [04/02 to present]:
Founder of the Malachiarts networks project. We provide:
colocation space, firewalling, manage hosting, provision bandwidth,
and manage network infrastructures for colo customers
Malachiarts Consulting - [06/01 to present]:
	Founder, offering services in:
unix system administration, database administration and tuning,
	network administration, application design/development,
web design, and technology architecture consulting

Jobtrak/Monstertrak.com - [08/98 to 05/01]:
Chief Technology Officer - directed: operations, development,
project/product planning, and quality assurance teams.
Guided technology department throughout merger with Monster.com.
Still participated in all operations duties
	(system/database/network administration and capacity planning).

Jobtrak - [11/94 to 09/97]:
Technology Lead/Architect - Nathan Bradshaw and I wrote and designed
the initial code to run Jobtrak's web presence. The project involved:
C and Perl CGIs, OCI, SQL, tweaking httpd server source and even the
early design work. Also took on sysadmin duties for their Solaris and
Hp-UX boxes and Oracle DBA duties for both web and accounting systems.
Grew the technology department from this initial seed of two,
to twenty-two, organized into the aforementioned teams:
	(ops, dev, planning, qa).

"Platzgeist" at Art Center College of Design - [4/96 to 9/96]:
Coded an interactive cdrom for the New Media graduate school
at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.

Fraserlab - [4/95 to 11/96]:
System/Network administration of an IRIX and NeXtStep cluster.

BILRC - [10/94 to 1/96]:
System administration for the Beckman Institute Laser Resource Center:
	IRIX, AIX, SCO, and windows/dos.

Chemistry Animation Project - [03/94 to 09/94]:
Programmer/Sysadmin - the group produced accurate simulations for
intuitive chemistry education videos. I administered an SGI(IRIX)
and IBM(AIX) cluster and used the TDI/Wavefront packages for modeling,
	rendering, and animation.

LIGO - [01/93 to 10/93]:
Developed a transmission/ringdown experiment for LIGO
	{Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave research Observatory}.
The experiment's purpose was to create a more accurate
map of a mirror surface by measuring its transmission and coating
losses at an array of points across its surface. The project needed
UNIX/C programming as well as familiarity with laser/optics operation
and serial communications with motor drivers and other optical
	equipment.

Specific Skills:
-----------------
Languages: C, Perl, Ruby, Java, C++, shell scripting (t/csh/sh), Lex, Yacc,
pascal, visual programming for Labview, and Lingo(director)
Operating Systems: Linux 1.3.x - 2.6.x, SunOS 4.1.1 - Solaris 9,
	IRIX 4.05 - 6.2, AIX 3.2.4 - 4.1.1, SCOUnix, NeXtStep,
	HP-UX 9.x - 10.20, Windows, and Mac OS X.
Implementations/Apps:
Oracle rdbms (7.x - 10g) administration and tuning, OCI, PL/SQL, MySQL,
PostgreSQL, building secure and redundant networks, capacity planning
for large internet services, IOS, router, bridge, firewall, and load -
balancer configuration, building custom network monitoring tools,
