boarding 2003

I was lucky enough to rent a place on the north shore of Donner Lake in Truckee for the winter/spring of 2002-03. Mike and I planned his spring break to have 4 or 5 days of snowboarding at Northstar and/or Alpine or Squaw if the weather was right. It wasn't. March 2003 looked stormy, and then it got warm, and the snow turned to rain, all the way up to 7500 feet. We had a 5-day slushfest.

But it was fun. Rob and Shaun drove up from LA, and Mike flew out anyway, and we had a jolly old time playing around on the rails and boxes and ramps. They all went home, and it snowed five or six feet in April.

I can't wait for next year.
