march 22 2003 11:00 pst not a lot of time lately to keep this up to date. but now that i'm done with work for a week, maybe i can concentrate on taking picures and leaving footprints.

march 19 2003 08:12 pst gotta go smog Sally.

march 13 2003 23:40 pst very very windy. no sign of rain yet. but if the weather channel can be believed, the fates are conspiring to make a good vacation for my little brother (note to those arriving late to the party- on march 13, it looks like it's going to snow in truckee for the next two weeks straight- but when you click this link, i'm sure you'll get current weather, whatever that may be).

march 13 2003 10:23 pst damn. I thought i had figured it out- 10% discount, no tax, free shipping, the whole nine. turns out I should have just believed the website. now i have to find another way to get at what i want. i should have known- stoopid dell.

march 12 2003 00:02 pst ok, this isn't good. I'm getting every day, but it's getting later and later (or earlier and earlier). I just got email from my little brother, who's in college and 3 time zones ahead of me. he's still awake, and i'm just happy i don't have to pull that kind of nonsense very often anymore. cheers to you, mike- get some sleep.

march 11 2003 00:42 pst more about the fire. lots of interesting and though-provoking moments, like the trade off between dignity and safety, or the fact that the emergency response systems and fire alarms completely failed to go off, even though the HVAC was blowing the delicate and unmistakeable odor of burning plastic into all of the offices on our floor. to the credit of everyone, i didn't witness any panic- i'm sure there was some, but i didn't see any of it. My throat is a little sore tonight.

march 10 2003 21:25 pst we all got to go home early from work today, because the building was on fire.

march 9 2003 23:10 pst just wrapped up a little dinner party with scrabble and some tiramisu. don't tell sam about the raw eggs. and i posted two of the movies from yesterday, the best ones i think. unfortunately for those of you using an alternate OS they're in .avi format- try mplayer.

march 9 2003 10:35 pst wow. lots of ramp time yesterday. and the threat of a trip to whistler looms... but i don't have a passport so maybe it's not for me *sigh*. today i'm going to redirect traffic from UGCS to these pages at malachiarts and add a couple of the avi movies extreme sandip shot for me in the park at northstar.

march 6 2003 23:25 pst must ready the goods. the snow awaits.

march 6 2003 15:47 pst my project for tonight- set up SA.

march 5 2003 08:14 pst hump day. Not to be taken lightly. I'm sticking to my new plan, which I call "Leave the office by 6."

march 4 2003 14:52 pst all banks are crap.

march 4 2003 10:03 pst planning a week-long snowboarding trip 3 weeks from now. I can't wait. everything else pales in comparison. Especially when you consider that i'm comparing it to this.

march 3 2003 23:31 pst seems like i don't get to this until about 11:30 each day. maybe i'll do it sooner tomorrow thanks to the good folks at http-tunnel and permeo. Just rememeber- set socks cap to look for your socks server at localhost, 127.0.0.1 and port 1080. It will save you some time.

march 2 2003 23:46 pst high point of the day was taking a nap. I made a shopping list of stuff I need to accomplish all the projects I'm thinking of getting myself into, so i can avoid thinking about medical school for as long as possible. It includes stuff like this, which i may actually get around to using some day. The day always adds up to 24 hours. why do i usually feel like i'm an hour or 2 short?

march 1 2003 23:58 pst very productive day today. I bought one of these, and went grocery shopping twice, and fixed my fog lights. And i copied all of the stuff on ugcs to a directory at malachiarts, which will be my new home from now on, because caltech is decomissioning shell access for alumni. too bad really. but anyhow, this gives me an excuse to start making the changes i've been thinking about since last summer when i was unemployed, and that's a good thing, so maybe it all comes out even in the end.
