march 11 2003 00:42 pst more about the fire. lots of interesting and though-provoking moments, like the trade off between dignity and safety, or the fact that the emergency response systems and fire alarms completely failed to go off, even though the HVAC was blowing the delicate and unmistakeable odor of burning plastic into all of the offices on our floor. to the credit of everyone, i didn't witness any panic- i'm sure there was some, but i didn't see any of it. My throat is a little sore tonight. |

march 1 2003 23:58 pst very productive day today. I bought one of these, and went grocery shopping twice, and fixed my fog lights. And i copied all of the stuff on ugcs to a directory at malachiarts, which will be my new home from now on, because caltech is decomissioning shell access for alumni. too bad really. but anyhow, this gives me an excuse to start making the changes i've been thinking about since last summer when i was unemployed, and that's a good thing, so maybe it all comes out even in the end. |
